Jack Charlton, icon of an era, has passed away aged 85. His contribution to Irish International football was immense. He broght us to the world stage and made us believe we belonged there. Once we did it once we knew it was possible and did it again and again. The great Irish players who served under him were inspired by his leadership and responded accordingly. This also coincided with the emergence of a new Ireland that made it’s mark not just in football but in many other ways. Was it a coincidence or did Jack inspire us all and make us all believe that nothing was impossible?
