Ireland’s Shooting Star

You won’t read it in the papers or hear about it on RTE but Ireland’s top international & Olympic clay pigeon shooter Derek Burnett came 5th in the ISSF World Cup in Madrid last week. Shooting against the best trap shooters in the world this is no mean feat and in addition, Derek managed 75 straight on the final day of competition to qualify for the final. It is important to remember the Irish sportsmen & women who partake in the minority sports which take as much sacrifice & dedication as any of the mainstream but who get little recognition at home. Well done Derek!
